Slaughtered for ivory
His view of these African giants
Simply.....a lucrative sport
In a more enlightened age we live
And the elephant we have learnt
Is almost human in some ways
Wise and regal beasts
Tormented and hunted for hundreds of years
There's an inbred fear of man
Many of whom still believe
They're a resource to reap at will
How long will it take for humankind
To understand that we
Must learn again to live
With nature.......in harmony?
